Insurance Source’s Furay named to Leadership Greer

Guy Furay, owner of The Insurance Source, has been named to Leadership Greer Class 38.

Leadership Greer was established in 1978 by the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of providing the area’s unequaled leadership and professional development program enriching the lives of participants and cultivating future leaders for the community.

Leadership Greer is a nine-month commitment beginning in September with orientation and an overnight retreat and ending with graduation in May. Topics covered during the year include: History of Greer, Public Safety, Human Services, Local Government, Economic Development, Education, Quality of Life, Media, and State Government.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, Furay began his insurance career in 1997 with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. He opened The Insurance Source, an independent brokerage specializing in health insurance in 2005. Furay earned the FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) and GBA (Group Benefits Associate) designations. He also completed four of the eight graduate level courses to earn the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania.

He is a three-time winner of the Soaring Eagle Award, which is the highest honor given by The National Association of Health Underwriters. Furay is a member of the Compass of Carolinas Board and has served on numerous other boards.
