International trade attorney Joseph Rohe receives Certified Customs Specialist designation

GREENVILLE, SC – Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP Attorney Joseph W. Rohe recently received the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation from the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America, Inc. The CCS Certification Program is designed to assist trade professionals involved in the import industry to become fluent in the current import regulations.

Rohe practices with the firm’s manufacturing and transportation industry groups, and is a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. He advises transportation and manufacturing clients on various aspects of regulatory compliance, antidumping and countervailing duties, classification and valuation, duty drawback and protests, free trade agreements and preference programs, foreign trade zones and duty deferral programs, intellectual property protection, and rules of origin determination and country of origin markings.

Rohe received his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel and dual law degrees from the University of Durham School of Law in England and the Charleston School of Law. His professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association and DRI (Voice of the Defense Bar). He is a member of the Board of Governors for the Commerce Club of Greenville and has serves the United Way of Greenville as a member of the Young Philanthropists Council and is a former Loaned Executive.
