Issaqueena Chapter, NSDAR Honored with 14 Awards at SCDAR Spring Conference

The Issaqueena Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), made up of members from local communities, proudly received 14 chapter and individual awards last week.

These honors were presented at the 129th State Conference of the South Carolina State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (SCDAR), held March 20-22 in Columbia. The chapter was recognized with multiple certificates for its outstanding service and dedication to the core values of the DAR.

Chapter honors included:

Certificate of Recognition from the Constitution Week Committee
Certificate of Recognition for the number of newspaper, magazine, and newsletter articles supporting Constitution Week
Certificate of Award for Outstanding Service to America, recognizing over 2,000 volunteer hours logged in 2024
Certificate of Award for Franco-American Memorial support
Certificate of Award for Most American Flag Programs Presented
Honorable Mention, Best Newsletter from the Public Relations and Media Committee

In addition to the chapter’s accolades, several members were individually honored for their achievements:

Stephanie Bowen earned four awards for completing the New Members Course, Committee Leaders Course, New Horizons Course, and the Genealogy Education Program. She was awarded four cords and the prestigious Triple Crown pin for completing all three DAR Leadership Training programs.
Jean Kroll earned awards for completing both the New Members Course and the Committee Leaders Course, receiving recognition cords for her efforts.
Susu Wallace was awarded a Certificate of Award for Outstanding Service to American Indians by the SCDAR American Indians Committee.
Deb Crenshaw-Nygro won First Place in the Women’s Issues Essay Contest from the SCDAR Women’s Issues Committee and earned Second Place in the Southeastern Division for the same essay.

As the Issaqueena Chapter celebrates its second anniversary, these honors reflect the dedication, passion, and community spirit of its members.

“We are so proud of the accomplishments of our small but mighty chapter,” said Chapter Regent Stephanie Bowen. “Each award represents the hard work and heart our members pour into serving others through the mission of the DAR.”
