JAGSC President nominated for prestigious National Hook Award

July 9, 2024

Casey Pash, president of Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina, has been selected as a finalist for the Junior Achievement USA® (JA) Charles R. Hook Award. This prestigious accolade is presented annually to a JA Area president who demonstrates exceptional achievements in fostering the growth and development of Junior Achievement. Pash will find out if she were selected for this award during the Junior Achievement USA National Leadership Conference held in Kansas City, Missouri, from July 15 to 18, 2024.

In response to receiving this distinguished award, Pash stated, “Being recognized by JAUSA as a Hook Finalist is a true reflection of the work the JA team is doing here in South Carolina. The JA Staff and JA Board are committed to teaching the skillsets and mindsets that build thriving communities here in South Carolina. With this recognition, JA will continue to grow throughout the state teaching financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.”

The Charles R. Hook Award pays tribute to the visionary leadership of Charles R. Hook, the former president and chairman of Junior Achievement during the 1940s and 1950s. Under Hook’s guidance, Junior Achievement expanded from a regional initiative in the northeastern United States to a thriving national organization.

JA of Greater South Carolina’s remarkable growth and prosperity under the inspiring leadership and guidance of Pash have been truly exceptional. Through Pash’s dedication, strategic direction, and tireless efforts, JA of Greater South Carolina has experienced unprecedented expansion and progress. Pash has seen the organization through a statewide consolidation, tripled their net assets and led her team in reaching 40,000 SC students with work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy instruction in the 2023-2024 school year. This growth exemplifies the core mission of Junior Achievement, as students are empowered to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world application.
