Jamie Prince honored with W. Thomas Duke Distinguished Public Relations Practitioner of the Year Award

GREENVILLE, SC – At its annual Mercury Awards banquet last night, the South Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) honored Jamie Prince, Flourish’s founder and principal, the W. Thomas Duke Distinguished Public Relations Practitioner of the Year Award. Additionally, SCPRSA awarded Flourish’s client work with two Mercury Awards and two Silver Wing Awards.

About the W. Thomas Duke Distinguished Public Relations Practitioner of the Year
Named for SCPRSA Past President Tom Duke, APR, Fellow PRSA, who served as senior counselor at Jackson Marketing Group in Greenville, S.C., prior to his retirement in 2007, the W. Thomas Duke Distinguished Public Relations Practitioner of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievement in public relations by an SCPRSA member with 15 or more years of experience in public relations. The honoree exhibits outstanding contributions to the field of public relations, both over the course of her career as well as specifically in the year 2016.
This award represents the definition of public relations as demonstrated by a public relations practitioner in a given year – specifically the management function that establishes mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the public on whom its success or failure depends. The honoree demonstrates outstanding leadership, management skills, innovation and creativity.
“It’s a great honor to receive such an esteemed award, named for such an honorable professional,” said Jamie Prince. “My greatest achievements are measured only by the lengths to which I am able to serve others – my clients, my community, and my team – in the highest and best ways, each day.”
2017 Mercury and Silver Wing Awards
Flourish’s work on behalf of its clients has received two Mercury Awards of Excellence and two Silver Wing Awards of Merit from SCPRSA:
- Mercury Award of Excellence for Greenville Women Giving’s 10th Anniversary Campaign;
- Mercury Award of Excellence for Blue Ridge Mountain Club’s “High Country Adventure in the Queen City” event;
- Silver Wing Award of Merit for Greenville Country Club’s newsletter, The River and Rooster; and
- Silver Wing Award of Merit for media relations surrounding Ten at the Top’s 2016 Upstate Regional Summit.
The SCPRSA Mercury and Silver Wing Awards Competitions are open to anyone in the communications or public relations field in South Carolina. Mercury Awards recognize public relations programs and campaigns and are given annually to organizations that have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. Silver Wing Awards recognize outstanding public relations tactic – the individual items or components that contribute to the success of an overall program or campaign. The Silver Wing celebrates the best of the best in tactics through categories reflecting their growing scope, creativity and importance in strategic public relations.
