Jane Dowd Joins William Means Real Estate Agent Team

January 5, 2015

CHARLESTON, SC – Real estate agent Jane Dowd has joined the William Means Real Estate team. Dowd has been working as a licensed Realtor since 2005. She has qualified for the Circle of Excellence many times.

Even though she was born and raised in Augusta, Ga., Dowd developed a love of Charleston at an early age. Her father was a Citadel graduate and brought his family to the Isle of Palms and Kiawah Island for summer vacations. Will Barrett also gave his daughter an inside look into the business of buying and selling homes through his own real estate company in Augusta. Dowd returned to Charleston to earn a degree in business administration from the College of Charleston.

“We choose carefully the agents that will join our hard-working team and we’re thrilled to have Jane Dowd working with us,” said Helen Geer, broker-in-charge at William Means. “Her love of the Charleston area, her connections and her experience in the real estate industry will be a real asset to our clients in Charleston and Mount Pleasant.”

Dowd and her husband, Sted Dowd, live in West Ashley with their two teenage children, Barrett and Stedman. She and her family enjoy tennis, water activities and College of Charleston basketball. Dowd is an avid runner, triathlete and gardener. She also volunteers at Charleston Day School and Porter-Gaud School. Dowd has been on several missions trips, including a trip to Africa where she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. She tries to do at least one mission trip each year and her daughter, Barrett, has accompanied her on all the trips.
