JBE Inc. to Expand Into Berkeley County

HANAHAN, SC – JBE, Inc., a supplier to the automotive, aerospace, and industrial electrical industries, today announced its decision to expand into the city of Hanahan in Berkeley County. The investment is expected to create approximately 20 new jobs in the region.

As part of this expansion, the company plans to grow its aerospace work and better serve all of its customers through proximate access to the Port of Charleston and all of its customers.

Established in 1982 as a family-owned business in Hartsville, S.C., JBE, Inc. currently has 55 employees and is among only a handful of minority-owned companies on the East Coast to hold a Foreign Trade Zone designation. The company serves a variety of industry leaders in a sub-assembly and manufacturing capacity, including: Boeing, Cummins, Otis Elevator, Honda, Sonoco, Hengst and ABB.
