USC Upstate Housing & Residential Life is seeking an Assistant Director for Residential Life is responsible for the day-to-day residential life operations of three residential communities. This role supervises 1-4 Graduate Community Directors (CD)/Community Managers (CM), who in turn supervise 22-24 Resident Assistants (RAs), and up to 4-6 Summer RAs. The Assistant Director will lead the department in different functions such as student programming, implementing Health and Safety Inspections, Summer student and intern housing, and assists with staff training and development as a presenter. This role assists with staff recruitment and selection. This is a “live-on” role which serves on a duty rotation, requiring the role to be available on campus within 15 minutes for on-call responsibilities during the school year and 40 minutes during holidays and summer for after-hours emergencies while on call.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field.
• 1+ year of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and successful background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ housing/residence life experience.
• Experience with programming and staff supervision.
• Familiarity with Banner, StarRez, Maxient, and CS Gold.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations for public universities in South Carolina.
Compensation:
• Salary: $41,258 – $43,605 (commensurate with education and experience).
• Live-on position with on-call responsibilities and campus meal plan use.
