USC Upstate seeks an accomplished executive administrative professional to serve as Assistant to the Chancellor—a pivotal role that anchors executive communications, strategic scheduling, confidential operations, and high level liaison work with campus leaders, board members, legislators, and community partners.

What you’ll lead:
• Executive communication & liaison work: Serve as the primary point of contact to and from the Office of the Chancellor; draft, proof, and format executive correspondence, presentations, and reports.
• Strategic calendar & office operations: Prioritize a complex calendar; evaluate meeting requests; coordinate speaking engagements; oversee daily office functions and authorize office actions within policy.
• Briefings & research: Gather, synthesize, and package information so the Chancellor is fully briefed for meetings, events, and engagements.
• Travel & event coordination: Plan detailed itineraries (local, national, and international) for the Chancellor and First Lady.
• Administrative leadership: Supervise student interns and Chancellor’s Fellows; maintain technology proficiency; optimize procedures; ensure records and systems are organized and compliant.

Qualifications:
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and/or experience).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience, or an associate’s degree and 6+ years of experience.
• Success profile:
o Executive level judgment, discretion, and integrity with highly sensitive information
o Exceptional organization, prioritization, and multitasking in a fast paced setting
o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat; comfort with web based financial/admin systems
o Ability to leverage AI tools appropriately to enhance efficiency and productivity
o Clear, confident communication with diverse stakeholders (including donors and public officials)
o Availability for occasional evening/weekend support for university functions and emergent needs
o Background check required
