Location: Positions available at our Lexington Group Mentoring sites: White Knoll and Lexington
Working Availability: Monday – Friday available, at least 2 days per week preferred
Start Date: January 2026

Position Summary
As a Group Mentoring Counselor, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to help children from hard places discover hope, confidence, and purpose. Every afternoon, you’ll guide a small group of K–5 students through a mix of fun, faith-filled, and growth-centered activities—helping them build lasting relationships, develop essential life skills, and grow in their understanding of who they are in Christ.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team that believes every child deserves to be known, loved, and encouraged. Through games, Bible lessons, homework help, and hands-on life lessons, you’ll model the love of Jesus and create a safe space where kids can belong and thrive. This role is perfect for someone who has contagious energy, a heart for ministry, and a passion to see kids grow in faith, relationships, identity, and life skills that last a lifetime.

Key Responsibilities
● Lead with Purpose: Guide a group of students each day through planned activities including Bible lessons, recreation, homework help, and life skills lessons.
● Foster Safety & Belonging: Follow all policies and procedures for safety and behavior management. Actively monitor your group and intervene immediately in any behavior or situation that may become unsafe.
● Create a Welcoming Environment: Take responsibility for the care and stewardship of the program site, ensuring setup and cleanup are handled with excellence and pride.
● Support Enrichment & Growth: Assist in planning and facilitating special activities, service projects, and enrichment experiences that expand children’s horizons.
● Offer Hands-On Support: (If eligible) Help with transportation of students from school using Ezekiel Ministries’ mini-buses, ensuring every child arrives safely and feels cared for.
● Build Relationships that Last: Engage with students relationally and spiritually, encouraging them daily and helping them see their God-given value and potential.

Requirements

● Must be at least 18 years old.
● Available to work up to 20 hours per week between 2:00–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with at least 2 day availability.
● Provide three references with phone numbers and email addresses.
● Successfully pass a drug test and background check.
● Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Education, Experience, and Skills
● Strong relational skills and the ability to coach, correct, and encourage in a positive and uplifting way.
● High energy, enthusiasm, and positivity that engage and inspire children.
● Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability.
● Prior experience working with children—especially those from hard places—is highly valued.
