Membership Services Manager

The membership services manager is responsible for all aspects of membership, serving as the first point of contact for membership with the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. This individual will report directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will be tasked with overseeing the Association’s statewide membership recruitment and retention efforts.

The membership services manager must have excellent communication skills with a talent for building strong relationships between members and the Association.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the Association’s member experience strategy, including membership recruitment, onboarding and retention efforts
  • Processing membership applications, renewals, and cancellations
  • Maintaining and updating membership records in the Association’s database
  • Conducting member prospect research
  • Assisting the Director of Marketing and Communications with the development and implementation of strategies to recruit new members
  • Assisting the communications manager with membership communications and the promotion of member benefits, services, and programs
  • Collecting data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports for the Association’s Board of Directors
  • Coordinating with the accounting department to track membership revenue
  • Preparing membership marketing materials for distribution
  • Assisting the meeting and events manager with the organization of events and activities for existing and prospective members, including but not limited to statewide and chapter membership meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing membership programs
  • Experience in member management, sales, or recruitment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and managing CRM software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for the hospitality and tourism industries
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
