Johnson going “Over the Edge” for Zoo
September 22, 2014GREENVILLE, SC – The Friends of the Greenville Zoo will be taking part in the Upstate’s inaugural Over The Edge for a Brighter Tomorrow fundraiser by sending community leader Tammy Johnson to rappel the Bank of America tower downtown.
Over the Edge is a community fundraiser where 70 people will rappel 15 stories (228 feet) down the iconic downtown building. Each rappeler is raising money for a local charity.
The Friends of the Greenville Zoo chose Johnson as its “edger” for the October 4 event because of her commitment to the Greenville Zoo as well as the community at large, said Amanda Osborne, the Executive Director of the Friends of the Greenville Zoo.
“Tammy has been a big supporter of the Zoo and the Friends,” Osborne said. “We are excited to have her as our edger.”
