Julie Newman joins United Community Bank as Mortgage Sales Manager

GREENVILLE, SC – United Community Bank welcomes veteran mortgage banker Julie Newman to its team as mortgage sales manager for the Upstate. Newman brings 30 years of mortgage banking experience to her new role.

“Julie’s extensive experience in the Upstate gives her a keen insight into this market,” said Mike Davies, President of United Community Mortgage Services. “She will be a true asset to our entire team and our customers.”

Prior to joining United Community Bank, Newman served as Upstate mortgage manager at SunTrust Mortgage. There, she managed a team of up to six loan officers, originated and closed her personal loan production, and managed the “Legendary Homes” account for SunTrust mortgage. During her thirty years in the mortgage business, Newman has gained extensive experience in processing, underwriting and originating mortgage loans for a variety of customers.

Newman is a lifelong resident of Spartanburg. She is a member of the Uptown Sertoma Club of Spartanburg, a group of volunteers who donate their time and resources to help raise funds for local charities. She also volunteers with FootHills Golden Retriever Rescue and Paws to Care, a local pet therapy group.

Newman has one daughter and one granddaughter and two golden retrievers, Beau and Dolly. She enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with her family.
