Kelly Davis Elected to National Board of Directors of Public Relations Society of America
October 23, 2012COLUMBIA, SC – October 24, 2012 – Kelly Jackson Davis, APR has been elected to a two-year term as a Director at Large on the National Board of Directors of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
Davis is the founder and CEO of Davis Public Relations and Marketing, an independent, full-service communications firm based in Columbia. She has nearly twenty years of experience in public relations, marketing and communications management. Her company specializes in strategic public relations planning, brand development, media and grassroots advocacy, government relations and consumer marketing for clients in a wide variety of industries. Davis Public Relations is the exclusive South Carolina member of the PRConsultants Group, a nationwide affiliation of independent public relations firms with senior-level public relations professionals in each of the top 50 U.S. media markets.
Davis has been recognized both for her work and her contributions to the public relations profession. She has received more than three dozen statewide awards for public relations campaigns and tactics, including the 2006, 2009 and 2010 Best in Show Awards from the South Carolina Chapter of PRSA (SCPRSA). In 2007, SCPRSA named her the W. Thomas Duke Distinguished Public Relations Practitioner of the Year, just ten years after recognizing her as SCPRSA Rookie of the Year. She is a Past President of SCPRSA, Past Chair of PRSA’s Independent Practitioners Alliance and the current Secretary for the Southeast District of PRSA.
Davis received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University and her Master of Mass Communications degree from the University of South Carolina. She is a graduate of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbia program, and she was recently elected to serve as Vice Chair of Communications on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. She also serves on the board of Trenholm Road United Methodist Preschool and as the Vice Chair of Communications for Women in Philanthropy.
