Kelly Lang-Ramirez Joins The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation

COLUMBIA, SC – The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting historic structures in South Carolina, welcomes Kelly Lang-Ramirez, director of resource development, to its staff.

As director of resource development, Lang-Ramirez will design and deploy all aspects of resource development initiatives. She will oversee all fundraising and sustainability activities, communications and public relations. She will also assist in operational planning and policy development for Palmetto Trust.

“Adding Kelly to our staff is a huge step for our organization and her work will be essential for Palmetto Trust to save more historic structures in South Carolina,” said Michael Bedenbaugh, executive director of Palmetto Trust.

Lang-Ramirez has been part of the management teams for both national and statewide non-profit organizations and has spent time consulting with for-profit organizations. Most recently Lang-Ramirez founded a social enterprise organization that used the latest medical research and technology to deliver clinical best practices to patient-driven care for chronic health conditions. She attended the University of Toledo and holds a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in sociology from Syracuse University. She also attended Duke University’s mid career non-profit management program and is involved with the Social Enterprise Alliance.

“Kelly believes brings our organization creative ideas that will help our organization grow and continue to find innovative ways to preserve our state’s significant historic structures,” said Steve McCrae, president of Palmetto Trust’s board of directors.
