Kelly Willenberg reappointed to South Carolina Small Business Regulatory Review Committee

March 18, 2026

Governor Henry McMaster has reappointed Kelly Willenberg to the South Carolina Small Business Regulatory Review Committee, extending her service through 2027. Willenberg has served on the committee since 2019.

The Small Business Regulatory Review Committee is composed of 11 business owners from across the state who volunteer their time to review regulatory issues that impact small businesses. The committee works to ensure that proposed regulations do not place unnecessary burdens on small businesses and may collaborate with state agencies or the General Assembly to recommend alternatives when appropriate.

The committee also has the authority to direct agencies to prepare economic impact statements or regulatory flexibility analyses and may request final assessment reports from the Office of Research and Statistics of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board.

“This committee works to protect small business owners by reviewing the potential challenges or unintended consequences regulations may create,” said Willenberg. “As a small business owner myself, I understand firsthand the needs and pressures facing small businesses. I am honored to continue serving in this role.”

Willenberg has long been active in healthcare policy and industry initiatives. In addition to her service on the Small Business Regulatory Review Committee, she was recently appointed to a federal advisory role focused on healthcare regulatory policy, further reflecting her leadership and expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments that impact businesses and healthcare providers alike.
