June 10, 2016

CAMDEN, S.C. – Thompson Kinney, an associate attorney with the Mullikin Law Firm, has been named to the South Carolina Bar’s House of Delegates, having been elected as an At-Large Delegate, his two-year term beginning July 1.

“It is an honor to be elected as a member of the House of Delegates and to be able to serve the legal community in our State,” says Kinney. “I will strive to uphold the integrity and honor of the legal profession in South Carolina.”

Kinney received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wofford College in 2009 and his Juris Doctorate from the Charleston School of Law in 2013.

A member of the S.C. Bar since 2013 (the year he joined the Mullikin Law Firm), Kinney has practiced primarily in the areas of criminal law, family law, and general civil litigation. He also assists the firm’s clients with public policy and legislative issues.

Kinney also has been committed to pro bono legal service, including volunteering at the S.C. Appleseed Legal Justice Center’s Lawyers 4 Vets, a pro bono legal clinic for veterans in S.C. Also, Kinney participated in the S.C. Bar’s Appellate Project where he represented a client, pro bono, on that client’s appeal to the South Carolina Court of Appeals.

The S.C. Bar, with a membership of more than 15,000 lawyers, is dedicated to advancing justice, professionalism and understanding of the law. The House of Delegates – which meets at least twice a year – establishes policy for the Bar.
