“We held a voters forum before the last election with great results,” said event founder Eric Wood. “We found that the candidates that want to have real interaction with citizens come and it’s important to have easy access to these candidates so you can hear what the vision is from the candidate themselves. That’s what this event is all about.”

Another Voice with Eric and Friends and Defenders for Children, believing that knowledgeable voters are key to the success of our country and our state, are holding a candidate forum where the voters can get to know the people vying to represent them at all levels of government.

Another Voice with Eric and Friends is a local talk show podcast committed to inciting people to make a difference in their community both as citizens and as neighbors. “Making a difference as citizens” is the politics side; encouraging people to vote, to run for office, to communicate with their elected officials, influencing them to do what the voters want. We advocate for honest debate on the social and political issues of the day; ignoring political “talking points.” personal attacks and trite slogans in favor of facts, reason and the goal of actually making a change. We, the People are the real power in this country and a thinking voting public will always make our country and our state stronger. “Making a difference as neighbors” focuses on being an active part of the community, promoting volunteerism and charity as well as supporting local business. Only as we all work together can we solve the pressing needs we see in the community. It is our hope that we aid in the continued growth of a well informed and voting citizenry and a vibrant and growing community.
