Lake Marion community celebrates grand opening of 1,000-home development

McCord’s Ferry at Lake Marion, a 700-acre master-planned lakefront community near Santee, SC, will host a two-day celebration to showcase the expansive residential development’s grand opening. The event will be hosted on Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, from 12 to 3 p.m.
The grand opening will be held at McCord’s Ferry, located at 122 Twisted Oak Trail Blvd. in Elloree, SC. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to explore the neighborhood and enjoy the festivities, including live entertainment, complimentary food trucks, barbecue, hotdogs and hamburgers, as well as tours of three newly constructed model homes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with professional design consultants in the community’s home design center.

Located on the shores of the state’s largest lake, McCord’s Ferry at Lake Marion is one of the state’s largest residential neighborhoods currently in development, providing up to 1,000 new homes for families and individuals in Orangeburg and Calhoun counties once completed. Construction of the multi-faceted residential complex, which includes the subdivisions Twisted Oak, The Enclave at McCord’s Ferry and Poplar Creek at McCord’s Ferry, as well as lakefront condominiums, being built by Audubon Homes, LLC out of Charleston.
When completed, the gated community will represent one of the area’s largest neighborhoods, which will include a community center with spacious meeting rooms, a fitness center and pool, walking trails leading to Santee State Park, a community boat ramp and dock, boat storage and more.
