Lake Murray Country chosen the “Go to Destination” And MORE!

July 16, 2018

Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC), the regional tourism office, was chosen by the CMA Awards Program as the 2018 “Go To Destination.” With this elite title, the organization receives promotion on the CMA website and 2 Country Music Award Show tickets to give away.

In-Stand Media, the marketing agency for the CMA Awards Show, contacted the CCLMC office after reviewing a variety of destination websites online.

Andrew Walters, VP of Sales & Marketing for the agency, states, “we were trying to gather ideas on what people would like to see throughout the 2018 C.M.A official program and promotions.  We combined some of our own ideas and reverse engineered the demographic profile for the typical country music fan. After the search, we concluded they seem to be the outdoors type who likes to fish, hunt, camp, and walk or ride through trails. With this information at our fingertips, we decided that featuring such a destination would be perfect. Now the big question; what destination would be perfect? Should we highlight LA, Nevada, NY and then we began our online search looking at different regions through various Convention Visitor Bureaus. After searching hundreds of CVB websites, our Google search landed us on the perfect destination for our audience. We discovered the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Region.  CCLMC has nailed our audience and demographic perfectly through their website and Jewel of South Carolina brand.”

Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) markets the four-county region of Lexington, Richland, Newberry & Saluda Counties all across the U. S. for tourism.  Over the years, the organization has received numerous awards, accolades and governmental resolutions for their marketing efforts.  “One of the best compliments a marketing entity can receive is from outside marketing sources,” states Miriam Atria, President/CEO of CCLMC.
