Lander Film Festival to Host Filmmakers for Short Film Screening and Awards Ceremony
March 19, 2025Lander University will proudly host the final event of the 2025 Lander Film Festival on Saturday, March 22, at 4:30 p.m. Admission to the Short Film Screening and Awards Ceremony will be free and the event will be open to the public, allowing anyone interested to attend and enjoy the exciting culmination of this year’s festival and short film competition.
This event will provide both the community and contestants with an opportunity to come together and experience the top three short films from each of the competition’s divisions—High School, College and Open. The films are evaluated prior to the screening by a panel of expert judges, based on the competition criteria. Each division will present third, second and first place honors, with cash prizes awarded to the winners of each division. After the screening, contestants, families and friends will gather to attend a reception.

Founded in 2010, the Lander University Film Festival provides outstanding film-related opportunities to Lander students, and the arts and film communities in South Carolina and beyond. Collaborations with academics and professionals in the film industry have led to exciting and unique opportunities for filmmakers of all skill levels to learn new techniques, develop their filmmaking skills and showcase their work.
