Lander Professor to Discuss S.C. Landscapes in Upcoming Community Lecture
February 23, 2026About the Event:
South Carolina spans 32,000 square miles from the coast to the mountains, offering breathtaking beauty that has inspired photographers, poets, scientists, philosophers and citizens alike. However, environmental challenges and population growth jeopardize the natural world daily. Natural resources provide citizens with food, water, recreation and shelter. This upcoming lecture will discuss the complex relationship between humans and the environment, emphasizing the need for residents to protect natural spaces for the benefit of future generations. Through photography, the lecture will explore the unique landscapes of South Carolina and the challenges stemming from population growth and limited resources.
