Laurens City Administrator Completes Master of Public Administration Degree

August 15, 2022

Clemson University recently held the summer graduation ceremony. Five Laurens natives and Laurens City Administrator, Eric Delgado were among those to cross the stage and receive their diploma.

Delgado was awarded his Master of Public Administration, and with this degree, he becomes the first City of Laurens Administrator to earn a master’s level degree in Public Administration.

“We are constantly working to improve the way we provide services to the public in the City of Laurens, and raise the bar of professionalism in everything we do. Since he began in January, I have been thoroughly impressed with the leadership, knowledge, and enthusiasm which Mr. Delgado has contributed to this ongoing effort, and much of this can be attributed to the excellent education he has received from Clemson’s Master of Public Administration program,” said Mayor Nathan Senn.

Senn added, “while I am personally very proud of him for earning this degree, I think every citizen of Laurens has good reason to be proud of him and will see the value of having a professionally-trained administrator. And, of course, as a Tiger grad myself who previously worked with a proud Clemson grad as City Administrator, Gary Coleman, it’s nice to be able to say that we have two Tigers at the top in City Hall once again! But, just to show we’re not biased, our new Fire Chief, Police Chief, and City Attorney all pull for the Gamecocks!”

Congratulations to all the 2022 graduates.
