Laurens County 4-H to Host Spring Break Camp

February 14, 2023

Spring break is just around the corner and Laurens County 4-H has something fun for kids 5-12 to do.

They will be holding a spring break camp “On the 4-H Frontier,” April 3-5 from 9 am to noon at the Joe Adair Outdoor Education Center. Youth ages 5 to 12 are invited to enjoy this year’s pioneer themed day camp.

In these 3 days participants will learn about the early settlers of Upcountry South Carolina and the skills they used to survive. They willl see ways to use these skills today in our modern world. Activities will include a scavenger hunt along the wooded trails of the Joe Adair Center, making homemade butter, weaving, building your own “log cabin”, and other pioneer themed crafts that are sure to excite and educate.

You do not have to be a 4-H member to participate. Click HERE to register online or drop by the Laurens County Extension Office  (219 W Laurens St, Laurens) to register. The cost to attend is $30. Contact Adam Petty at [email protected] or 864-705-1102 with questions or more information. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up today.
