Laurens County Humane Society to Host “Chips and Tips” Low-Cost Pet Care Event March 14

Pet owners across Laurens County and beyond will have an affordable opportunity to care for their animals when the Laurens County Humane Society hosts its “Chips and Tips” event on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at its facility located at 793 Poplar Street in Clinton.

Check-in will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and all animals that arrive during that time will be seen. No appointment is required, and the event is open to pets of any breed with no limit per household. Residents from any county are welcome to participate.

The clinic will offer a wide range of low-cost services designed to help families keep their pets healthy, safe, and protected, including vaccinations, testing, microchipping, and basic preventative care.

Services and Pricing

Available services include:

• Nail Trim — $10

• Rabies Vaccination — $10

• DHPP (Canine Distemper Combination) — $15

• Bordetella — $12

• Microchipping — $20

• Heartworm Testing — $14

• Heartworm Prevention (1 month) — $10 per pill

• Flea/Tick Medication (1 month) — $20 per pill

• Feline FVRCP — $12

• Dewormer (hookworms/roundworms) — $5

To receive services other than rabies vaccination, pets must show proof of a current rabies shot. Tags on a collar are not considered proof. Pets without documentation will be required to receive a rabies vaccination at the event before additional services can be provided.

Because flea/tick and heartworm medications are prescription items, they may only be purchased if the pet has been seen by the Humane Society within the past 12 months.

What Pet Owners Need to Know

Organizers expect a busy turnout and ask attendees to follow several procedures to ensure the event runs smoothly:

• Park only in designated areas

• Leave pets in vehicles until called

• Check in at the building entrance

• Animals will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis

• Cats must be in carriers

• Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier

• Please be patient and courteous

Payment will be accepted by cash or card only. A $5 transaction fee will apply to card payments.
