Laurens County Organizations Unite to Support Small Businesses for Pink Friday 2025

October 8, 2025

Laurens County is gearing up for a holiday shopping celebration that puts small businesses front and center. Sunny Meadow Boutique, Upstate Advertising, the City of Laurens, Main Street Clinton, Main Street Laurens, and the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to support local retailers through Pink Friday, a nationwide movement encouraging communities to shop small before Black Friday.

This year’s event takes place on Friday, November 21, 2025, and promises to be a countywide celebration of the people and places that make Laurens County unique. For many independent retailers across the country, Pink Friday has become their biggest sales day of the year—proof that when communities rally together, small businesses thrive.

“Pink Friday isn’t about rock-bottom prices or waiting in long lines,” said Shannon Walker, owner of Sunny Meadow Boutique in Downtown Laurens. “It’s about creating meaningful shopping experiences, telling the story behind each product, and celebrating the impact local businesses have on our community. We want our customers to know that when they shop small, they’re making a real difference—on jobs, on community events, and on the future of Laurens County.”

Dabs Davis, President & CEO of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts like this one. “Our small businesses are the backbone of Laurens County’s economy,” Davis said. “When organizations come together to support them—like we are for Pink Friday—it creates energy and momentum that benefits the entire community. This is a great opportunity to show local business owners how much they matter.”

How to Participate

On November 21, shoppers are encouraged to visit any of the participating businesses across Laurens County. A full list will be available on the Shop Local Laurens County Facebook page. Many retailers will offer special promotions and unique experiences for customers throughout the day.

Shoppers can help spread the spirit by sharing their favorite Pink Friday finds on social media using #PinkFridayLaurens and encouraging friends and family to do the same.

Local businesses interested in joining the celebration can sign up for free at https://forms.gle/N26QZka5uqptxuMK7. Collaboration is encouraged to make this year’s event the biggest yet.

A Continued Focus on Supporting Local

The Buzz has been shining a spotlight on small businesses throughout the year with its Shop Local series, highlighting the creativity, resilience, and community spirit of Laurens County entrepreneurs. Pink Friday is a natural extension of that focus—inviting residents to invest in their local economy and experience the difference that shopping small can make.

Whether it’s a gift from a favorite boutique, a handcrafted item from a local artisan, or a service from a neighborhood business, Pink Friday is a chance to make every dollar count toward strengthening the local community.
