Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Collecting Donations for Senior Valentine Care Bags

January 12, 2026

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO)is once again spreading love this Valentine’s season through its Senior Valentine Care Bags initiative, part of the Sheriff’s Office’s Senior Outreach Services program.

The program serves more than 30 seniors across Laurens County, including many who live alone. Each year, the Sheriff’s Office assembles Valentine-themed care bags filled with thoughtful items designed to bring comfort, encouragement, and a reminder that they are valued members of the community.

Donations are currently being accepted during normal business hours at the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, located at 216 W. Main Street in Laurens. The deadline to contribute is February 6, 2026. Those who prefer may also purchase items online and have them shipped directly to the Sheriff’s Office at the same address.

Suggested donation items include sugar-free candy, tissues, hand lotion, chapstick, large-print word puzzles, pocket calendars, small magnifiers, pens and notepads or stationery, tea bags or instant coffee packets, reusable bags, flashlights, and other individually wrapped items. While these items are suggested, all donations are appreciated.

In addition to donations, the Sheriff’s Office is also seeking recommendations for seniors in Laurens County who would appreciate receiving a Valentine care bag. Community members are encouraged to reach out if they know of a senior who could benefit from a visit and a small gesture of kindness.

For more information about donating or to recommend a senior, contact the LCSO at 864-681-4509.

Through this annual outreach effort, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office continues its commitment to serving not only public safety needs, but also the well-being and connection of seniors throughout the community.
