Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Launches 2024 Christmas for Kids Program

As the holiday season approaches, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is once again preparing for its annual Christmas for Kids program, an initiative aimed at bringing joy to children in need throughout Laurens County. This year, applications for the program will be available starting Monday, October 28, 2024, and can be picked up in the Sheriff’s Office lobby during regular business hours.

The process to apply is accessible to all . Prospective participants do not need to bring any documents when picking up an application. The front page of the application will provide all necessary information regarding the interview process, required proof documents, and next steps. Applications must be submitted by November 29, 2024, ensuring the Sheriff’s Office has ample time to process requests and organize gifts for each child.

The Christmas for Kids program, supported by the generous donations of toys and funds from community members, strives to make Christmas special for children who might otherwise go without. Each year, sponsors provide a variety of toys, clothing, and essential personal care items that are distributed to families in need.

Some of the most requested items this year include craft kits, board games, mini brands toys, legos, action figures, hot wheels cars and tracks, rc cars, Barbies, baby dolls, and sports items (balls, bats etc). , and the ever-popular LEGO sets. Personal care items such as brushes, deodorant, shampoo, and hair bows are also highly appreciated.
