Laurens CPW Announces 2026 Laurens County Public Power Scholarship
December 7, 2025In partnership with the City of Clinton and Piedmont Municipal Power Agency (PMPA), Laurens Commission of Public Works (CPW) has announced the opening of the 2026 Laurens County Public Power Scholarship—an annual opportunity designed to support the next generation of community-minded students.
The scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a strong commitment to serving others. Applicants must submit a completed application form, a personal essay, and letters of reference to be considered. All materials must be received by January 16, 2026.
Laurens CPW General Manager John Young emphasized the value of investing in young people across the county. “Our public power communities are stronger when we support and encourage future leaders,” Young said. “This scholarship is one way we can help students pursue their goals while reinforcing the importance of service, responsibility, and giving back to Laurens County.”
