Laurens District 55 High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Hosts Patriot Day 9/11 Tunnel Walk & Tower Climb Remembrance Event

September 6, 2024

In honor of the lives lost and the heroes of September 11, 2001, Laurens District 55 High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) will host a special Patriot Day remembrance event on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The event, titled the “9/11 Tunnel Walk & Tower Climb,” will take place from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at K.C. Hanna Stadium, with attendees entering through Gate 6 and parking by the tennis court area.

This event serves as a solemn tribute to the sacrifices made by first responders, military personnel, and civilians on 9/11. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in the Tunnel Walk & Tower Climb, symbolizing the challenges faced by those who responded to the tragic attacks. By walking through the stadium and participating in a simulated tower climb, attendees will experience a fraction of the physical and emotional toll endured by the brave men and women who worked tirelessly to rescue others.
