Laurens District 55 Homecoming Court Donates Nearly $12,000 to American Legion Post 25
September 24, 2025American Legion Post 25 has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Laurens District 55 Homecoming Court for their remarkable donation of $11,907.63. The check was formally presented during the Post’s meeting on Tuesday evening.
The Homecoming Court raised the funds through a community-driven campaign where votes were cast at $1 each. Three young ladies each brought in more than $2,000. Their decision to support Post 25 stemmed from the organization’s strong investment in young people—this year alone, Post 25 sponsored 28 students to attend Boys State and Girls State, programs that nurture leadership and civic responsibility.
“This incredible gift shows the character of our youth and the pride of our community,” said Kevin Farnsworth, Commander of Post 25. “They could have chosen any number of causes, but they recognized the investment we are making in the future of Laurens County by sending students to Boys State and Girls State. Their generosity will help us continue to serve and build strong leaders for tomorrow.”
American Legion Post 25 emphasized that every dollar will stay in Laurens County to support veterans, youth, and community initiatives.
“Our future looks bright,” Farnsworth added. “What a blessing to see the next generation already stepping up to make a difference.”
