Laurens District High School to offer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program

September 27, 2021

In the Spring, Laurens District 55 High School will begin offering the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program through Piedmont Technical College (PTC).

The EMT is a vital link in the health care chain. EMTs are employed in areas such as emergency ambulances, private non-emergent transport services, clinics, and other allied health care settings.   This dual enrollment program will only be available to seniors, as students have to be 18 to sit for the exam at the end of the classes.  Upon completion, students will have completed nine hours of college credits and received EMT certification.

This is a great opportunity for the school as well as for our community.
