Laurens Electric Employee Pays It Forward with Donation Honoring Late Greenville Resident

December 27, 2025

Tyler Calvert, a Member Service Representative with Laurens Electric Cooperative, has paid forward a $500 donation to the Prisma Health Upstate Foundation’s Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship in honor of the late Tiffany Sullivan of Greenville, who lost her battle with cancer in November.

Calvert said the donation was deeply personal.

“Tiffany was a close friend that turned into family,” she said. “This donation reflects the love she gave so freely and is a way to let her generosity live on.”

According to prismahealth.org, the Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship is a network of clinics and services designed to empower patients as they navigate the cancer experience, with a focus on improving quality of life during and after treatment. The center operates within the broader Prisma Health system, which includes Greenville Memorial Hospital and seven acute-care community hospitals across the Upstate. Prisma Health is the largest nonprofit health company in South Carolina.

“Tiffany mattered and her memory continues to make a difference,” Calvert said. “I hope this contribution helps advance care, so fewer families experience the same loss.”

The donation was made through Laurens Electric Cooperative’s Pay It Forward program, which began in 2015. Each month, every Laurens Electric employee is entered into a random drawing to receive $500 to use for an act of kindness of their choosing. Once selected, the employee has one month to determine how the funds will be paid forward.

The program is budget-neutral and funded entirely through Laurens Electric’s charity events, which are made possible by employee volunteers.

Through Calvert’s donation, the Pay It Forward program not only honored the life and legacy of a beloved friend but also supported ongoing cancer care and survivorship services for patients and families across the Upstate.
