Laurens Youth Completes Year as Ambassador for 2021-2022 South Carolina Royalty Court for Cinderella International Scholarship Pageant
July 11, 2022The International Cinderella Scholarship Program was founded in 1976 and has grown into the largest and most prestigious scholarship-oriented pageant system of its kind in the world.
Throughout its 46-year history Cinderella has championed the need for and value of higher education for women and has promoted that goal by awarding millions of dollars in cash and college scholarships to young women from the United States and a host of foreign countries.
The Cinderella project is based on a 3-tiered system of competitions. Participants start out on the local level and based on their performance can advance to the state level of competition (or national level for foreign countries) and then proceed to the final level of competition, the International Pageant.
During the process of competing the girls learn many life skills that will help them in the future. They also learn the importance of working in their local communities to make a difference.
In Laurens County, Laci Poole is doing just that, making a difference. Poole is six years old and was crowned Ambassador for the South Carolina/Georgia Court at the 2021-2022 competition.
The role of Ambassador has given Poole the opportunity to travel around South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina volunteering and support in many communities. Among her many volunteer experiences, she lists “bell ringer” for the Salvation Army as one of her favorites. Poole’s first community service project was volunteering at the 2019 Squealin’ on the Square.
Poole will compete for an International Title the week of July 24th-July 29th in Dallas Texas.
Poole is the daughter of Lorie Poole and Jay Lyles. She attends Laurens Elementary School where she will be in second grade this fall.
The 2021-2022 SC/GA courts includes:
