Leah G. Johnson receives National Peer Excellence Award

June 12, 2017

Leah G. Johnson, assistant executive director of the South Carolina Bar, has been named the recipient of the National Association of Bar Executives 2017 Peer Excellence Award. The award is designated for an individual who has demonstrated significant contributions to the NABE organization and to peers within the association.

Johnson’s contributions to the organization include service as past chair of the NABE Program Committee and Governmental Relations Section and two consecutive terms as a State Bar Delegate to the NABE Board of Directors.

Following her board service, Leah remained active in the organization, particularly as a sought after presenter at national programs on advocacy. In the last year, she shared her expertise with not only bar executives, but also bar volunteer leaders as a presenter in the National Conference of Bar Presidents “21st Century Lawyer” seminar series and reprised her presenting role at the American Bar Association’s Bar Leadership Institute, the ABA’s premier bar leadership development program. The Peer Excellence Award will be presented at the NABE Membership Luncheon and Business Meeting on Thursday, August 10, in New York City.
