Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announces promotions

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon recently promoted ten deputies and one correctional officer.

Jonathan Brock, 33, has been promoted to narcotics investigator. Brock, a resident of Gaston, previously served as a resident deputy in the department’s south patrol region, which is based near Pelion. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in January 2012.

Elizabeth Church, 38, has been promoted to school resource officer in the department’s west patrol region, which is based near Gilbert. Church, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the west region. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2015.

Kason Gardner, 25, has been promoted to field training officer in the department’s north patrol region, which is based near Irmo. Gardner, a resident of Saluda, previously served as a deputy in the north region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in April 2013.

Jacob Hendrix, 26, has been promoted to resident deputy in the department’s west patrol region. Hendrix, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the west region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in September 2014.

Bryan Kirkham, 43, has been promoted to field training officer in the department’s south patrol region. Kirkham, a resident of Pelion, previously served as a deputy in the south region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in January 2012.

Danny Lewis, 46, has been promoted to master deputy in the Lexington County Courthouse. Lewis, a resident of Little Mountain, previously served as a deputy in the courthouse. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2000.

Chris Ricciardi, 38, has been promoted to master deputy in the department’s north patrol region. Ricciardi, a resident of Leesville, previously served as a field training officer in the north region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2008.

Thomas Smith, 39, has been promoted to crime scene investigator. Smith, a resident of Irmo, previously served as a deputy in the north region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in December 2013.

Kevin Steele, 37, has been promoted to field training officer in the department’s north patrol region. Steele, a resident of Chapin, previously served as a school resource officer. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in March 2008.

Ormica Thomas, 45, has been promoted to field training officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. Thomas, a resident of Barnwell, previously served as a correctional officer. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in June 2014.

Ben Treaster, 28, has been promoted to master deputy in the department’s north patrol region. Treaster, a resident of Gaston, previously served as a resident deputy in the department’s south patrol region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in June 2010.
