Lexington District One grads earn community scholarships

Seven Lexington County School District One graduates received a share of Central Carolina Community Foundation’s 2017 scholarship funds.
Based in Columbia, CCCF awarded 123 scholarships totaling $277,544 to some of South Carolina and the country’s most outstanding students. Students received college scholarships based on academic achievement, community service and financial need.
Lexington District One graduates received a combined total of $15,566 for the 2017–2018 school year.
Scholarship monies come from 41 funds managed by CCCF, designed to provide education opportunities for students across South Carolina. Students must meet specific eligibility criteria for the scholarship they seek.
Recipients from Lexington District One include:
- Taylor N. Davis, Gilbert High — Gilbert Ruritan Scholarship
- Kiersten M. Addy, White Knoll High — South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Scholarship
- Emily K. Smith, Gilbert High — South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Scholarship
- Jalon M. Daniels, Lexington High — Milford H. Wessinger Scholarship
- Erin R. Gobbi, Lexington High — Milford H. Wessinger Scholarship
- Kristen A. Davis, White Knoll High — Milford H. Wessinger Scholarship
- Sean P. Powers, Lexington High — Milford H. Wessinger Scholarship
