Lexington Family Practice location opens in Gilbert

Community members in the Gilbert area have a new health care option for family medicine. Lexington Medical Center has opened a new Lexington Family Practice location in Gilbert. This new practice in the Lexington Medical Center network of care provides comprehensive care for the entire family.

 

         

 

Lexington Family Practice Gilbert is in the former Lexington Medical Center Gilbert community medical center and offers on-site imaging, laboratory services, and school and sports physicals, in addition to well visits and same-day sick and urgent appointments. Like other Lexington Family Practice locations, patients will also have access to a Coumadin® clinic and mobile echocardiograms at the practice.

Kenya Cooper, MD, and Payton B. Foust, MD, are accepting new patients at the practice.

Dr. Cooper is new to Lexington Medical Center’s network of care. A Columbia native, Dr. Cooper earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. She then completed her residency at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina, where she served as co-chief resident. In addition to completing her family medicine residency, Dr. Cooper evaluated and treated patients at Self Regional Healthcare’s emergency care center and urgent care clinic and volunteered at the Greater Greenwood United Ministry’s Free Medical Clinic. In addition to certification by the American Board of Family Medicine, she has achieved certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support, advanced life support in obstetrics, fundamental critical care support, neonatal resuscitation and pediatric advanced life support.

Dr. Foust is a Lexington County native who grew up in the Gilbert area. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his family medicine residency at Self Regional Healthcare. Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he has additional certifications in advanced life support and critical care support. Prior to joining Lexington Family Practice Gilbert, Dr. Foust provided primary care to patients of all ages at Lexington Family Practice Otarre Pointe.
