Lexington One athletes finish strong at the 2014 Pelion Invitational
October 6, 2014LEXINGTON, SC – Lexington One cross-country athletes had a great showing at the 2014 Pelion Invitational. More than 600 runners from 19 schools competed in the meet hosted by Pelion High on September 24, 2014.
In the varsity boys division Lexington High placed first, Pelion High placed third and Gilbert High placed fourth. The following student athletes placed in the top 10:
LHS Senior Dane Szalwinski – second place
LHS Junior Hunter Janus – fourth place
LHS Sophomore Weston Hutto – fifth place
LHS Junior Miles Fowler – ninth place
Lexington One varsity girls also finished strong. Lexington High finished third, Pelion High placed fourth, River Bluff High placed seventh and Gilbert High placed ninth in varsity girls team scoring. The following athletes placed in the top 10:
PHS Junior Antoinett Fulton – fifth place
PMS Eighth-Grader Paige Driggers – 10th place
Junior varsity boys at Lexington High placed second, Pelion High placed third, Gilbert High placed sixth and River Bluff High placed eighth. The following athletes placed in the junior varsity boys top 10:
LHS Junior Will Bugeski – second place
LHS Freshman Jeffrey Keene – third place
PHS Freshman PJ Walker – sixth place
LHS Sophomore Sergei Alexeev – seventh place
LHS Senior Steven Lin – ninth place
Junior varsity girls also placed with Lexington High taking third and River Bluff High taking fourth. Emma Hoog, a Pleasant Hill Middle seventh-grader who competes for LHS, placed ninth in the junior varsity girls meet.
