Lexington One Board conducts Superintendent Little’s review

September 23, 2016

During the September 20, 2016 meeting of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, the board met in executive session to conduct Superintendent Gregory D. Little’s interim performance evaluation. The superintendent’s evaluation is required by board policy and by the district’s employment agreement with the superintendent.

This informal, interim evaluation consisted of a discussion between the board and the superintendent about his impression of the district thus far, and the board’s impression of the work he has done during his first five months in the district.

During the board meeting, the board went into public session, talked about Dr. Little’s performance since he began work on May 2, 2016 and publicly expressed its confidence in Dr. Little’s leadership and performance. They commended him on his ability to quickly build relationships and create partnerships, to provide support for administrators through leadership training and to interact positively with parents, students, teachers and staff.

The board also acted to extend his contract for an additional year or until June 30, 2020.

Board Chair Debra Knight stated, “In light of Dr. Little’s extraordinary progress assimilating into the district and its communities, the board looks forward to the district’s continued success under his leadership.”
