Lexington One honors 1,500 graduates

LEXINGTON, SC – Lexington County School District One honored 1,500 graduates from the district’s five high schools on Friday, June 3, 2016, and Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the University of South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena.
At this time, these students have earned more than $45.5 million in scholarships.
Here are some interesting facts about each graduating class, appearing in graduation order.
Pelion High
170 graduates
About $3.2 million in scholarships
The Pelion Marching Pride won the AA State Championship and performed at the Pearl Harbor 75th anniversary remembrance celebration.
Gilbert High
168 graduates
More than $5.7 million in scholarships
This graduating class has three sets of identical twins and broke the school’s highest scholarship total with more than $5.7 million in scholarships.
Lexington High
376 graduates
More than $14.4 million in scholarships
The top three percent of this graduating class includes one set of twins and one set of triplets.
River Bluff High
360 graduates
About $12.5 million in scholarships
The RBHS Class of 2016 has excelled academically, athletically and in the arts. Academically, students have been recognized on an international level in career and technology competitions. Athletically, they have won state championships in the largest classification of the state. Artistically, they have received superior ratings, won state championships and been recognized nationally for their excellence. In the area of service, this senior class donated thousands of dollars and given thousands of hours of their time to many local and national causes.
White Knoll High
431 graduates
About $9.7 million in scholarships
A student in the top three percent of the graduating class, Nikita Tran, has had perfect attendance throughout her entire school career.
