Liquid Catering’s Johnson named GHS Med Scholar

February 6, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – Liquid Catering’s Tammy Johnson has been named a Greenville Health Medical Scholar for the winter 2015 term.

The five-week program is designed to educate participants about the changing healthcare environment and how GHS is helping to transform health care. Topics to be discussed include population health management and medical neighborhoods; healthcare costs and what it means to be a healthcare value leader; and the importance of medical education and research in transforming the delivery of health care.

Johnson started Liquid Catering in 2011 when she realized the need for a special event bartending company in the Upstate. Because of the demand, she quickly grew from a one-woman operation in her garage to having more than 50 employees with multiple venues.

In 2012, Johnson renovated a former auto repair shop in downtown Greenville and turned it into Liquid Catering’s headquarters. A year later, she saw the opportunity for her second revitalization project. She opened the Old Cigar Warehouse, an event venue located in a historic building in downtown Greenville. She opened her third company, Bravo1 Protection, which is a full-service security staffing firm, in 2015.

Johnson’s entrepreneurial spirit goes beyond work, as she is an active young leader in the community.

She served as the chairwoman of PULSE, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s young professionals group in 2012; served on the Chamber’s LEAD committee, and was recognized as one of Greenville’s Best and Brightest under 35. She started a two-year term on the Board of Advisors in January and graduated from Leadership Greenville Class 39. In 2012, Johnson was appointed to the City of Greenville Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee. She also serves as volunteer Bar Manager for Euphoria, is a member of the Upstate Bridal Association and serves on The S.C. Small Business Development Center (SC SBDC) board.
