Litigating Environmental Whistleblower Claims Under OSHA Procedures

January 26, 2016

Charleston – On January 22, 2016, David Dubberly of Nexsen Pruet spoke at the SC Bar’s annual convention on “Litigating Environmental Whistleblower Claims Under OSHA Procedures.” Dubberly is Nexsen Pruet’s practice group leader for labor and employment law.

The firm’s labor and employment attorneys represent clients in the full range of workplace matters; they help respond to investigations under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) and defend whistleblower claims under the OSH Act and other laws.

“The federal government is allocating more time and resources to whistleblower programs,” said Dubberly. “Now, more than ever, companies need to take steps to minimize exposure to whistleblower claims. When a whistleblower case is filed, it can take on a life of its own. If not handled right, it can lead to employee morale and PR problems and result in large damages awards against the company.”

David Dubberly chairs Nexsen Pruet’s Employment and Labor Law Group and co-chairs the firm’s International Law Team. He is a frequent speaker, author and contributor to media inquiries on various topics pertaining to the DOL, FMLA, OSHA, EEOC and other employer and workplace related news.
