The Establishment proudly announces the return of live music with the Broad Street Live series featuring local jazz artists performing every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm – 11pm at the Broad Street restaurant. Renowned local pianist, jazz artist and music producer, Demetrius Doctor will headline the series on most Friday nights, and will be curating the program to feature a rotating coterie of talented Charleston musicians. This live music series will be free of charge, and reservations are encouraged.
“I’m humbled to be part of such an extraordinary program that spotlights local artists with a focus on the jazz genre,” says Demetrius Doctor. “The Establishment is the perfect setting to create an intimate musical experience, and we think the crowd is going to really enjoy all of the performances that we have in store.”
The first Broad Street Live evening is scheduled for Friday, February 9th and will feature Demetrius Doctor on piano with several guests joining him throughout his three sets. Other artists performing in the coming weeks include Nolan Tecklenburg with Kevin Hamilton, Arshak Sirunyan, Frank Duvall, Emily Curtis, Jonathan Lovett, Richard White, Abdiel Iriarte, and many more.
“The cornerstone of any great jazz scene is live performance in intimate settings, even better when excellent food and drink is around,” says Mena Mark Hanna, General Director and CEO of Spoleto Festival USA. “I am so excited about the Establishment’s new series because it is just that: the best in local jazz right in the heart of Broad Street. This is welcome news for Charleston, her arts organizations, and jazz lovers.”
The Establishment is known for its daily curated menu of sustainable seafood and fresh produce from local purveyors. The music will be paired with an array of dishes available from Chef Elliott Howells, from small plates to entrees and desserts. Barman Ryan Wise will be serving custom cocktails and pouring from The Establishment’s collection of over 175 bourbons and whiskies and the restaurant’s award-winning wine cellar all evening.
“We’re so excited to partner with Demetrius to bring live jazz back to Broad Street,” says Brian Jarusik, The Establishment’s General Manager. “We think it will be fun for our guests to sit and enjoy their dinner, a cocktail or glass of wine while they take in the incredible music.”
