Local entrepreneurs to open TakoSushi in downtown Lexington, S.C. on Thursday, Sept. 5

Latin and Asian cuisine restaurant expands with third Midlands location

Food People Restaurant Group, owned by local entrepreneurs Chris Sullivan of Lexington, S.C., and James Williams of Columbia, S.C., is excited to announce the opening of its third TakoSushi location in the Midlands. The restaurant, located at 102 C W. Main St. in Lexington, S.C., will officially open at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 in the heart of Lexington’s thriving downtown.

In recognition of opening week, the first 25 guests each day, Thursday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 8, will receive free queso for a year.

“Lexington isn’t just a new location for us—it’s home,” says Chris Sullivan, founder and co-owner of Food People and co-owner of TakoSushi. “Many of our team members, myself included, are Lexington locals. We’ve had a front-row seat to the town’s incredible growth, especially the development along Main Street. Seeing this close-knit community embrace a wide variety of cuisines inspired us to add TakoSushi’s flavors to the mix.”

The Lexington location will showcase TakoSushi’s signature Latin and Asian cuisines, with an array of dishes from sushi rolls and sashimi to tacos and burritos. Guests can expect the same high-quality, flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere that have made TakoSushi a beloved dining destination for locals and visitors throughout the Midlands and beyond.

Located at the corner of West Main and Church streets, across from Icehouse Amphitheater, the new TakoSushi spans 2,100 square feet and offers indoor seating for 60 and outdoor seating for 48. Three large garage-style doors open to connect the modern interior with an expansive patio overlooking Main Street, making the space ideal for various dining occasions — from casual meals to special celebrations.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Happy hour food and drink specials will be available from 4-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
