COLUMBIA, SC – October 2, 2013 – Healthy Learners will hold its 14th Annual Healthy Learners Champions for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer on Wednesday October 16, 2013, to benefit the children served by Healthy Learners. The event is set for a noon shotgun start on the Wildcat and Old Hickory courses at the Fort Jackson Golf Club in Columbia and will conclude with an awards ceremony including dinner as well as an exciting Take Me Home Drawing. Join this year’s Premier Exclusive sponsor, Colonial Life, for one of the largest and most successful charity golf tournaments in the Midlands, which traditionally hosts more than 225 golfers.
The annual golf tournament is our largest fundraiser. We are truly grateful for the many sponsors and volunteers who continue to join us in meeting the unmet health needs of children by supporting the golf tournament, said Jo Pauling-Jones, Executive Director of Healthy Learners. In an effort to continue to provide health care services for children who are in need and without resources, Healthy Learners partners with schools and community health care providers to not only help children secure needed health care services, but also to provide transportation to medical appointments.
Healthy Learners will name Judi Gatson, WIS-TV Anchor as the 2013 Champion for Healthy Learners. The presentation will take place during the 14th Annual Healthy Learners Champion for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer.
