Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust presentation to take place at The Ponds April 9

On Sunday, April 9, at 2 p.m, the public is invited to attend a presentation from the Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust at the historic Schulz Farmhouse, 326 Hundred Oaks Pkwy, Summerville, SC.
Hear how a group of forward-thinking volunteers established the Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust to work with local landowners and how they organization works to preserve lands and waters in our region. The Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust, established in 1992 to help resolve local land use matters.The goal in all of the Lord Berkeley’s every transaction is to develop strategies that both create conservation outcomes for the land and satisfy the particular needs for the landowner. This often involves the use of conservation easement, which protects properties from extensive subdivision and development but allows them to remain productive and in private hands.
The Ponds Conservancy, a not-for-profit community organization, is a component of The Ponds community. The Conservancy manages and guards the historic home, important archeological sites and more 1,000 acres of open space as well as a wildlife refuge, National Register of Historic Places eligible archaeological sites, walking and running trails, and parks at The Ponds community where Kolter Homes is the developer and builder.
