“Erin and I are thrilled to serve as this year’s co-chairs for the Midlands Heart Ball,” said Lou Kennedy. “Locally, our efforts will help fund research in South Carolina and deliver educational programs to our community.  We look forward to working with the Midlands and engaging local leaders to support the 2018 Heart Ball and its mission.”

Kennedy and McCaskill have been longtime supporters of the American Heart Association.  Lou Kennedy and Nephron Pharmaceuticals are the Midlands first-ever Life is Why sponsor with a focus on community CPR trainings which will add thousands of life-savers right here in the Midlands. Erin McCaskill is furthering her commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission by serving as co-chair for the Midlands Heart Ball for a second time.

“It is an honor to serve a second term as co-chair for the Midlands Heart Ball” said McCaskill. “Last year, my father and I were overwhelmed by the generosity of the Midlands community for this important cause.  I am certain Lou and I will be able to help make the 2018 Heart Ball the best one yet and in turn help save the lives of our family, friends and neighbors.”

The Midlands Heart Ball is set to take place on Friday, January 19, at the South Carolina State Fair Grounds in the Cantey Building.  The black-tie event will host over 400 guests representing local medical, business and social communities.  The event features dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction and honors local families impacted by heart diseases and stroke. Nephron Pharmaceuticals will serve at the Life and Why sponsor and supports the Midlands local initiatives.
