Lourie Law’s Tish Dozier Alleyne named to Columbia Business Monthly’s 2024 Legal Elite

August 12, 2024

Tish Dozier Alleyne, a member of Lourie Law Firm in Columbia, has been named to the 2024 “Legal Elite of the Midlands” list compiled by Columbia Business Monthly.

She was honored in the practice area of Personal Injury – Plaintiff.

This is by no means her first time being honored for her representation of injured workers. She has been cited previously by Best Lawyers in America for her work in the areas of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs as well as Workers’ Compensation Law – Claimants. She was also named to the list of Nation’s Top Injured Workers’ Attorneys by the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group.

She is also an elected member of the executive board of Injured Workers’ Advocates, a nonprofit association with the goals of protecting and advancing workers’ compensation law on the state level in South Carolina.

She is a candidate for Richland County Council in District 8. She is the Democratic nominee for the seat, having replaced incumbent Overture Walker, who dropped out of the race to pursue a state senate seat.

Originally from Georgetown, Tish earned her Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Before that, she received a bachelor of arts degree in 1997 from the University of South Carolina, majoring in political science.

Columbia Business Monthly began publishing the Legal Elite feature in 2010. The process starts with nominations from more than a thousand active lawyers in the Midlands. Attorneys may nominate members of their own firm, but for each in-firm nomination there must be a corresponding out-of-firm nomination. Attorneys are not allowed to vote for themselves. Attorney votes then narrow the nominees down to the top 10 in each of the practice areas.

“Our first priority is always to provide the representation that injured workers need at a critical moment in their lives,” said Tish. “But it is also very gratifying to have this kind of recognition for the work we do from our professional peers.”
