Lowcountry Land Trust launches “$40K for 40 Years” Giving Tuesday Challenge to kick off its milestone anniversary

Donations made between now and December 2nd will have double the impact thanks to matching grants from The Cravens Foundation and an anonymous donor
Lowcountry Land Trust, a nonprofit committed to preserving Lowcountry landscapes and waterways for current and future generations, is kicking off its 40th year with a Giving Tuesday challenge aimed at raising $40,000 to support land conservation across the South Carolina coast. Thanks to the incredibly generous matching gifts provided by The Cravens Foundation and an anonymous donor, up to $40,000 in community donations made between now and December 2nd will be doubled, increasing the impact of each supporter’s contribution. Additionally, Marsh Wear on King is contributing to this goal by donating 10% of its Giving Tuesday sales to Lowcountry Land Trust.
Since 1986, Lowcountry Land Trust has protected over 163,000 acres across more than 550 properties. This community-centric Giving Tuesday campaign will support the Land Trust’s foundational work in protecting the landscapes and waterways that define the Lowcountry, forever. In its 40th year, Lowcountry Land Trust will maintain this critical work that impacts Lowcountry residents’ quality of life, while accelerating the pace of regional land conservation, supporting public education and programming at the Lowcountry Center for Conservation, and bringing to life the nationally-significant Angel Oak Preserve.
“Giving Tuesday is an annual, worldwide celebration of nonprofits that support and better their communities,” said Victoria Bock, communications director at Lowcountry Land Trust. “It’s an honor to take part, raise awareness, and reinvest the gifts we receive from the community back into the Lowcountry.”
